St Francis’ Church, the oldest Catholic Church in Melbourne, commissioned Darien in 2016 to produce a life-sized bronze of Father Patrick Bonaventure Geoghegan (1805-1864). Fr Geoghegan was Melbourne’s first priest and is considered one of the ‘pioneer priests’ of the Catholic Church in Victoria.

The sculpture was completed in 2017. The Ceremony of Unveiling and Blessing took place on Sunday 4th June, 2017.
